| Description: | An intern for the Events/Communications Manager is charged with tasks such as arranging community relations events, a regional tradeshow, and author signings as well as keeping within budgets and developing direct mail campaigns for national tradeshows. All of which develop traits such as working under deadlines, multiple tasking and detail orientation. |
| Duties: | The largest community relations project over the summer is the Annual Shoreline Wine Festival (Bishop’s Orchard in Guilford, CT). During this project an intern has the ability to demonstrate skills such as creativity and dedication. On these projects from start to finish he/she is encouraged to think outside of the box, continually met with the Events/Communications Manager and festival/show organizers and keep the event under budget.
In working with our authors on signings, the intern is charged with arranging signings at higher education institutions to include Yale, Harvard, Georgia Tech, Rochester Institute of Technology and Northeastern University.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a community relations event
Plan a regional tradeshow
Coordinate author signings at colleges/universities
Create marketing materials such as press releases and direct mail campaigns
Other duties requested by the Events/Communications Manager

| Qualifications: | Currently enrolled college student looking for real-world experience.
Diligent, independent worker with strong initiative, communication skills, and attention to detail.
Marketing/Communications and English Majors are preferred. |
